Brighton & Hove Albion Player Tests Positive

Albion have revealed a player has tested positive for coronavirus. But chief executive and deputy chairman Paul Barber said he was “okay” and being cared for.

The test took place today and the player’s identity is not being disclosed.

Barber said: “We have had three players tested so far. One has been tested positive.

“We are not testing them routinely. We are only testing when symptoms emerge.

“The one that tested positive was just today. That is unfortunate but he is okay and obviously he is getting the care he needs at the moment.”

Players are training at home and taking part in group sessions via video link-ups.

Board meetings and a press conference today involving Barber and head coach Graham Potter are also taking place via video and audio links.
