Isaac Somto – biography, fact, career, awards, net worth and life story

Isaac Somto (born Isaac Somtochukwu Jideonwor in September 6, 2002) is a young African serial entrepreneur, writer and graphic designer. 

early life

Somto was born in Lagos State, Nigeria but grew up in the capital city of Nigeria, Abuja. He attended Abuja School Of Accountancy And Computer Studies (ASACS) for high school education and graduated in 2017. 

career

Somto started blogging at the age of 15 with a platform he founded in 2017 called “WowFactor360”. He then sold of the platform to found Techcrest.net in late 2018, a platform dedicated to publishing and talking about technology and business in Africa. After reaching more than 50,000 people and getting his work featured on a major tech conference in Trieste, Italy, An offer came for Techcrest early 2019 and Somto sold off Techcrest.net with its articles to focus on The Isaac Somto Foundation, a movement which was founded late 2018 alongside other young African writers (Lucky Ebere, David Lein, Somtochukwu Ella, Joy Okwori, Somtochukwu Daniel, Goodness Chijoke & Abdulwahab Ashimi) to help promote African writers and stories. The movement partnered with African digital publishing giant Publiseer to get African authors published for free. 

In 2019, Somto rebranded the movement, changing its name from The Isaac Somto Foundation to Imaginact, a portmanteau of “Imagine” and “Action”. And moved what the movement formerly did to a platform called  African Writers Hq,  which was a program/initiative under Imaginact.org. African Writers HQ later became Vocal Africa, as it grew to becoming a modern Pan-African voice promoting African stories, experiences and more. 

As an entrepreneur, Isaac Somto co-founded Peagital with Nigerian digital marketer, Elochukwu Favour, to help businesses scale online by providing branding, page management and marketing solutions. He worked with Nancy Saiboh on her EmpowerHer Africa Campaign addressing menstrual taboos and myths surrounding menstruation. He has worked with various brands and campaigns bringing social change and making economic impact. He is currently a Specialist, Branding & Visual Identity at Talem Business School.
