US Ambassador Denies ‘Listing’ Of Nigerian Politicians Banned From The Nation
The US of America has denied the purported checklist of Nigerian politicians who’ve been banned from the nation as a consequence of their roles in elections.
They defined why they’d not reveal the identities of Nigerian politicians issued visa bans for interfering in electoral processes.
On Monday, the US authorities introduced the ban on some Nigerians, who undermined the November 2019 governorship polls in Bayelsa and Kogi States.
On why the identities of these affected weren’t disclosed, the American Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Beth Leonard, it was due to the confidentiality hooked up to visa-related issues.
Leonard acknowledged this on Wednesday, whereas talking on the finish of the inaugural consular assembly with Nigeria officers.
In line with her, the names can’t be made public “as US visa processes are actually confidential and so we don’t publish a listing, we don’t make public who it’s that will be subjected to this sanction.
